Roller Coster

Since the last post, it has been a roller coaster of emotions. High emotions, low vibrations—the feeling is exhausting. At some point, I notice the pattern: it is about to repeat itself from the beginning. No. NO. I cannot let that happen. Going back and restarting again is an absolute no. Attention becomes too scattered when I am hit with endless possibilities and options. No. I cannot go back there again. FOCUS  on one task at a time is the only option. At the School of Practical Philosophy, we were taught to say: “Padam, padam, prati padam” —step by step. This is the philosophy I want to embed every time I sit at the computer to create.

Your four things

What have you been postponing at work because it is complex or because it might break other processes? Maybe there are files that you flagged by renaming "_todelete" or "test", but every time you are about to delete these files your subconscious hit up and instead of deleting, you'd think "maybe we will need them, maybe someone will come back for them".    Are there tasks on your backlog or as we say "in the pipeline”, that will always remain pending until they are tackled?   Maybe it is that disaster recovery job that needs to be tested, or that backup process that needs to be checked.   List four items that are either in the back of your mind or on your pipeline list. Target one per week or one per month. Once you finish this list, hit the next four items.
